Pastel and acrylic double matted and framed.

This scene was painted from a photograph of an area in Santa Fe, New Mexico. Many old European paintings had a "tree of life" in them and this particular tree reminded me of one, especially since it seemed to grow out of dry earth. I also liked the distinct contrast between the dry,sandy land and the water.
